Easter is the
Christian holy period that runs from Palm Sunday to Easter
Sunday, from the point of view liturgical. This is the
period of most intense activity within the Church, as the
week in which it is a memorial of the passion, death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ. On that form are as follows:
Palm Sunday
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Holy
Maundy Thursday
Good Friday
Saturday Gloria, and
Sunday
Easter in the Christian liturgical year week preceding
Easter. Celebrations special recall the institution of the
Eucharist at the Holy Thursday; readings from the Scriptures,
solemn prayers and the veneration of the cross recalls the
crucifixion of Christ on Good Friday. Holy Saturday marks
the burial of Christ, the offices of midnight vigil
inaugurate the celebration of Easter. Both Roman Catholics
and Christians call the Orthodox Easter 'Big Week' because
it commemorate the great deeds and sacrifices of God to
redeem mankind.
Given the importance of holding the Sorrows of the Virgin
Mary (Friday Dolores), on Friday before Palm Sunday, in some
places processions are held, which consist of images drawn
to the street. In the two previous days: Friday and Saturday
from Dolores Passion, which is regarded as Easter, from
Friday until Sunday Dolores Easter, even in some places
Easter stretches to the days subsequent to Sunday
Resurrection (Monday and Tuesday, Gloria).
Easter Triduum.
The most important days of the Easter holidays are formed by
the so-called Easter Triduum: Holy Thursday, Good Friday,
which commemorates the death of Christ and Holy Saturday,
which commemorates Christ in the tomb. Also important is the
eve of Friday, on Holy Thursday, the day on which the
Catholic Church celebrates the institution of the Eucharist.
In the trades that day reserves the Blessed Sacrament in a
place that is prepared in the church, called the monument
until the office the next day, allowing the Faithful
personal or community worship the Blessed Sacrament for a
brief moment or whole night, according to the possibilities
of each place.
The date of Easter.
The Easter is the Sunday after the first full moon after the
spring equinox, and is to be calculated using the full moon
church, but it almost always coincides with the astronomical
full moon, so for purposes of calculating is generally valid
employ the more traditional definition astronomical.
Therefore, it can be as early as March 22 or as late as
April 25.
In some countries are suspended for two weeks teaching
ranging from the Saturday before Good Friday until the
second Sunday after Good Friday, so for this year and it
